Comment on 'How Much Global Warming Is Guaranteed Even If We Stopped Building Coal-Fired Power Plants Today?'

David Biello brings up a very interesting point about Global Warming. Like the words in my blog web page state, there is still hope for an ensuing environmental disaster. Biello agrees by stating, "Humanity has yet to reach the point of no return when it comes to catastrophic climate, change, according to new calculations. That being said, the infrastructure must change. CO2 must be captured to preserve the atmosphere as we know it. Unfortunately, we are still adding to the old infrastructure which relies on fossil fuel as the main energy source. By 2060, there will be 496 billion metric tons of CO2 added to the atmosphere. Humanity is obviously on the wrong track when it comes to consuming energy. God help us! And it is not just America; China contributes a 1/3 of the harmful global emissions. It is definitely a world-wide epidemic that needs to be altered immediately. What a huge responsibility the President of the US has on his shoulders. The people of the world are more concerned about making the next dollar than taking into account the black future of the world via pumping gasoline into the car. We as a people must demand an alternative to consumption of energy. We must individually take the necessary action to alter our own way of living to accommodate the natural order of things. We must do our part. We must recycle; buy hybrids; plant a tree; participate in new technologies that capture rather than emit CO2 in the process of producing energy. The burden should be on each individual:  Not the president alone.
